Orlando, Fla., – Central Florida revered and trusted organizations, Addition
Financial, Dr. Phillips Charities and the .decimal® company have made a
financial contribution to positively impact the lives of local young adults
by becoming a Sponsor of CareerSource Central Florida’s (CSCF) Summer Youth
Program. Because of their generosity, young adults experienced a summer of
professional development and career exploration that would not have
occurred without their financial commitment. CSCF has created
sponsorship opportunities for businesses to provide a scholarship to a
young adult who does not meet the federal funding guidelines associated
with the program and make a long-term impact that fuels their future career
success.
CSCF’s Summer Youth Program offers three college and career
readiness programs, designed for students and young professionals ages
16-19 who are beginning their college and career journey. The program
features exclusive access to industry training, professional internship,
campus tours and other helpful resources to ensure that no student must
make their journey alone.
“CareerSource Central Florida shares a mutual commitment
with its valued community partners to invest in our future leaders. Every
partnership is rooted in the belief that our organizations have the power
to make a lasting impact to inspire the youth of Central Florida,” said
Pamela Nabors, CSCF President and CEO. “Their sponsorship helps us deliver
educational programs and career path options to a new generation of
workforce, and we are extremely grateful for their financial commitment to
us and to these students.”
As sponsors, their value is promoted through CSCF’s events
and workshops that help develop life skills including financial literacy,
problem-solving, networking, communicating, career exploration and more.
The Summer Youth Program Scholarship Packages include Silver, Gold, and
Platinum options for an individual or a business who can donate a voluntary
amount.
Addition Financial, a Lake Mary-based credit union, donated
$40,000 that underwrite scholarships for six youth and provided specialized
youth bank accounts for participants to help them gain financial literacy
and establish healthy budgeting habits early on. The credit union will also
provide quarterly financial education webinars, along with on-site
seminars. It will also participate in CSCF’s events and serve as a resource
for career seekers in need of a trusted financial institution.
“We at Addition Financial are proud to be the platinum
sponsor of this summer program and to continue our partnership with
CareerSource Central Florida,” said Katie Thomason, Vice President of
Community Engagement and Partnerships. “With our roots in education, we are
passionate about helping members of all ages make positive money management
decisions and look forward to guiding them along their financial journeys.”
For President and CEO of .decimal® — a manufacturing company
for on-demand design and delivery of custom, patient-specific treatment
devices for cancer patients — Richard Sweat, creating a channel for youth
talent that connects them to employers is a career passport for the
future. The company donated $15,000.
In a recent statement expressed to CSCF by Dr. Phillips
Charities Chief Executive Officer, Ken Robinson for the $25,000 donation,
he said that Dr. Phillips Charities provides grant funding to respond to
the needs of the community and directly make a difference in the lives of
children and families. “We gladly support CareerSource Central Florida in
its goal to provide educational growth and increase career opportunities
for our community’s youth,” he added.
Dr. Phillips Charities is comprised of The Dr. Philip
Phillips Foundation and Dr. Phillips, Inc. These two distinct funding
organizations are well known in Central Florida for demonstrating support
to organizations and valuable community efforts that impact the economy.
The Summer Youth Program has registered approximately 1,100
youth participants this year with a potential economic impact of nearly $3M
in the region, with the program launched July 6. Last summer, CSCF
successfully served nearly 1,000 youth with an economic impact of more than
$1.7M in Central Florida.
