SANFORD, Fla., November 21, 2019—The Asian Lantern Festival: Into the Wild at the Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens is now open. This event, in partnership with Tianyu (tē-än-yōō) Arts & Culture, Inc. celebrates the culture, art, and beauty of traditional Asian lantern festivals. The Zoo has been transformed into a dazzling evening experience full of color, light, and sound. Even before entering the gate, guests will be greeted by a water-spitting dinosaur and walk through a vibrant path of larger-than-life moons and flowers.

Once inside, guests may find each element more enchanting than the last. Every piece was handcrafted onsite by artisans from TianyuArts & Culture, Inc. A crew of 30 individuals arrived at the Zoo in October to construct the frames, install the LED lights, cover the framework with Chinese silk, and hand-paint every detail of these awe-inspiring elements.

The Asian Lantern Festival: Into the Wild, will run Wednesday through Sunday evenings from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, through January 12, 2020 (closed Thanksgiving and Christmas). This is a separately ticketed event and is not included with regular Zoo admission. Live music, authentic Chinese artisans, and food trucks will be onsite throughout the festival.

General admission tickets are $18.50 per person. A special four pack of tickets is being offered for $50.00. Tickets must be purchased for a specific date and will only be valid for admission on the date listed on the ticket.
