The Wayne Densch Performing Arts Center Board President Sarah Reece has presided in her current role for nearly 10 years. In 2009, the then called Helen Stairs Theatre was seeing management changes and trying to find practices that would keep the community theatre alive. Throughout her presidency, Sarah took the theatre from living to thriving. She built an incredible team of loyal board members and supporters who helped improve the consistent quality, diversity and financial positions of programming. She also lead the team through multiple renovation phases if the historic 1920s theatre, including exterior façade improvements, interior restorations and technical enhancements. The theatre has grown from having 5 days of operating cash to almost a year of cash in the bank, securing the stability and building a foundation for future growth.

June 2019 is Sarah’s last month as she steps down to allow her successor, Christina Hollerbach, to take the reins. Christina Hollerbach, 32, is no stranger to Sanford. She is COO of Hollerbach’s Willow Tree Café (including Magnolia Square Market and Hollerbach’s Outfitters, also in Sanford) and is a passionate Sanford advocate. Christina has extensive nonprofit board experience, serving as an officer on the Women’s Club of Sanford, Hollerbach’s Has Heart and the Love Your Shorts Film Festival board of directors.  Christina performed on the Helen Stairs stage in her teenage years and joined the WDPAC board in 2017 hoping to give back to the arts.

“I have loved this theater since I performed there back in 2004. I am so thrilled that 15 years later I am in a place in my life that I can give back to this organization and their great mission of preserving a historic theater, offering quality entertainment, fostering regional talent, deepening appreciation for the performing arts and being an economic driver in Seminole County. I’m proud to build on the growth and stability that has been laid out by Sarah and the Board. No matter my task, my goal is to serve as liaison between the business practices that have brought us so much success and the innovative ideas that will carry us into our future,” says Christina.

Christina’s first major appearance as President will be at the WDPAC’s Spectacular Showcase on June 28, which will be a kickoff event that will sample every major production and partnership upcoming in the 2019-2020 season. Tickets for media are gratis and can be reserved through Managing Director Debra Beardsley at debra@wdpac.com. Tickets for the public can be purchased for $15 at www.wdpac.com.
